This notice is written to meet the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law 13.709/2018, LGPD) and, for readers in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the GDPR.
2. What we collect, why, and on what basis
Newsletter. Your email address, the date you subscribed, and whether you opened or clicked an edition. We use it to send the monthly newsletter and to see whether it is being read. Legal basis: your consent (LGPD art. 7, I; GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).
Messages you send us. Your address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message, used to answer you and to keep a record of editorial correspondence, including pitches and corrections. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a publication and answering correspondence (LGPD art. 7, IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(f)), and performance of an agreement where a contribution is published.
Published contributors. Name, biography, photograph and professional affiliation, published because you asked us to publish them with your work.
Site use. Standard server logs, including IP address, browser and pages requested, kept for security and to measure audience in aggregate. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
We do not sell personal data, do not use it for advertising, and do not profile readers.
3. Who processes it for us
Hosting and email: Hostinger International Ltd. Newsletter delivery: Hostinger Reach. Each acts on our instructions. Because these providers operate internationally, your data may be processed outside Brazil and outside your country, under contractual safeguards including, where applicable, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the international transfer rules of LGPD arts. 33 to 36.
4. How long we keep it
Subscription data for as long as you are subscribed, and for up to twelve months after you unsubscribe, to prove that consent existed and to avoid re-adding you. Correspondence for as long as needed for the editorial record, and longer where a professional or legal duty requires. Logs for a short period, ordinarily up to six months.
5. Your rights
You may ask us to confirm whether we hold your data, to give you a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, to port it to another provider, and to tell you with whom it has been shared. You may withdraw consent to the newsletter at any time, through the unsubscribe link in every edition or by writing to us, and withdrawal does not affect what was lawful before it.
Write to saad@saadsignal.com and we will answer within fifteen days. You may also complain to the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD) or, in the European Union and the United Kingdom, to your local supervisory authority.
6. Cookies
The site sets only the cookies WordPress needs to function, and no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, this notice changes with it and a cookie banner will appear.
7. Children
The site is addressed to professional readers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes
This notice is provisional and will be replaced. The version in force is the one published here, with its effective date. Material changes affecting subscribers will be announced in the newsletter.
